Requirements for admission, booking and registration

Who can participate?
  • Students from every faculty at Humboldt-Universität (to be verified via your student ID)
  • Humboldt Universität employees and alumni (if spots are available)

How can you register? (This applies to Humboldt-Universität students only.)
  • Registration is required and only available online. This includes the compact/crash courses during the semester break.
  • Payment information can be found on the confirmation you receives upon registering for the course. All of the information (including "Verwendungszwecke 1 and 2") must be included on the transfer slip. The fee must be transferred no later than three days after you have registered for a course, otherwise the reservation is automatically deleted.
  • You can register for more than one course (do not exceed 8 SWS per language); a separate bank transfer is necessary for each course.
  • Proof of registration and your student ID as well as the receipt of transfer are to be presented to the course instructor at the beginning of the course.
  • You can only change between courses after speaking with both instructors; a spot in another course is not guaranteed.
  • It is not allowed to transfer one’s registration to another person.

Payment Rules
  • The course fee is collected to finance additional teaching capacity and thereby ensure a comprehensive, demand-oriented course program. The fee is 10 EUR per SWS.
  • Please consult the Course Fee Regulations for information about exemptions.
  • Requests for exemptions must be submitted within three days of booking the course. (Language Centre, Dorotheenstr. 65, Room 3.35/3.36)
  • Reimbursement of payment is only possible when a course has been cancelled by the Language Centre or when an individual exemption has been recognized. In general, payments for intensive courses and those using licenses cannot be reimbursed.

Receiving Course Credit
  • A record of performance bearing an overall grade is issued if the course was regularly attended (at least 75%) and the final tests were successfully passed. These records must be provided to register for UNIcert® certificates (via exam or accumulated credit points) within three years following course completion.
