Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin - Language Centre

What is meant by DSH?

The Language Centre of the Humboldt-Universität gives prospective students from abroad the opportunity to take the Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang (German higher education entrance examination, DSH) four times a year.

The Language Centre has registered its Examination Regulations (PDF) of 28 January 2013 with the university presidents´conference (Hochschulrektorenkonferenz) of the Federal Republic of Germany under number 12-08/14 and is thus authorised to award DSH certificates.

The successful completion of a DSH exam is a prerequisite for registration at a German university or university of professional education.

The staff at the Department of German as a Foreign Language draw up the texts, questions and tasks for the exams and conduct the written and oral exam.

The certificate is issued the day after the successful completion of the oral exam
