German Intensive Course (DaF) – Pre-Semester Intensive Course ERASMUS

This course is exclusively open to incoming HU programme students who participate in:

  • the ERASMUS+ program, or
  • other university partnership programmes,

and who will spend one or two semesters studying at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. A password is required for registration which incoming students receive from the International Office (Abteilung Internationales).

The course covers the language level A1–C2 and focuses on the following areas:

  • grammar,
  • conversation,
  • writing,
  • reading and listening comprehension.

Therefore, it does not prepare you for a specific area of study.

 

Registration for March/September opens at the beginning on Jan/mid-May respectively.

Classes take place in the morning

9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

German Intensive Course before the summer semester

March (Mar 2nd to Mar 27th, 2026)
Registration opens on Jan 5 2026 and closes on February 2nd or when the course is full.

German Intensive Course before the winter semester

September (Sept 4th to Oct 2nd 2026)
Registration opens on May 15th 2026 and closes on August 3rd or when the course is full.
